Loading of Trucks for furniture delivery

Volunteers collect, warehouse, and deliver donated furniture, free of charge, to needy families in the Annandale, Bailey Crossroads, and Culmore areas. The furniture is stored in a building donated by Annandale United Methodist Church and in a storage area provided by Fairfax County. ACCA receives and screens requests for furniture through a fax referral that involves Fairfax County human service and specialized agencies, churches, and schools. ACCA churches and community volunteers take turns providing teams of volunteers to work at the warehouse located at 6935 Columbia Pike on Saturday mornings.

Navigating Stairway for mattress delivery

Volunteers are needed to pick up and deliver furniture, communicate with volunteers by phone (in Spanish, English, and other languages), help with administrative tasks in the warehouse, and key in computer information (which volunteers can do from home using a program like Microsoft Word).

Donations of useable, "gently" used furniture are always needed. Sofa beds and king-sized beds can NOT be accepted. Baby cribs that meet the new safety standards are acceptable.  Please see guidelines.
