Family Emergency Services
Providing assistance 24/7!
 |
ACCA
provides food and emergency financial aid to area individuals
and families to help with medical expenses, rent, utilities,
and other needs. Requests for help come from ministers, social
workers, and volunteer and community agencies.
Volunteers
deliver food selected from ACCA's food pantry, located on
Columbia Pike. ACCA typically provides enough food for 1 week.
Food is donated to the pantry by individuals, ACCA churches,
youth and community groups, and local and national food drives.
The food pantry receives grants from Fairfax County, which
are used to buy perishables and other items, such as baby
formula. The pantry is further subsidized through ACCA's participation
in the annual CROP Walk.
ACCA tries to make sure that recipients of financial aid are
put in touch with long-range help, such as social services
assistance, subsidized housing, pastoral counseling, fuel
assistance programs, credit counseling, or other services
as needed.
