Annandale Crop Walk: October 17, 2009
ACCA held its thirtieth
*CROP Walk". The walk was held on trails at Lake Accotink
and Wakefield Parks. Registration began at 8:00
a.m. October 17 near the Lake Accotink Marina. The walk raises
funds for Church World Services Programs that help fight
hunger and poverty around the world, respond to disasters
and provide refugee assistance, and supports local efforts
to fight hunger and poverty.
As of December 29, 2009 the Annandale
CROP Walk had raised a total of $20,534 in cash and check
donations, plus $500 in online donations for total of $21,034.
ACCA should receive over $5,200.00 from the Church World
Services. Walkers, volunteers and donors from 18 ACCA churches
supported the walk.

*Why call it "CROP"?
Back in 1969, the Church
Rural Overseas Program (CROP) started
by having farmers send food overseas. The programs have
changed over time, but the CROP name has stayed the
same.
