About ACCA

ACCA is a church-related voluntary organization providing day care, food, rental assistance, furniture, and other services to low-income families in the Annandale/Bailey's Crossroads area, regardless of religion, race or ethnic background. What counts most in ACCA is serving those in need.

Mission Statement:

The Annandale Christian Community for Action, incorporated as ACCA, Inc., is an alliance of 26 churches in the Annandale community and adjacent areas. The purpose is to unite all Christians of the community to promote and sponsor Christian social action. The guiding principle is "doing what Jesus would do."

How ACCA Started:

Governance and Funding:

ACCA is governed by a Board of Directors made up of Official Representatives (OR's) from member churches (by-laws). The Board and its elected officers (list of former & current presidents) meet monthly to review and guide assistance programs. Church and private contributions, foundation and government grants basically fund ACCA. Apart from its Child Development Center, there is no paid staff and no charge for ACCA program services. As a 501 (c) (3) organization, all contributions and donations of goods to ACCA are tax deductible.

Service Region:

ACCA provides services in the Annandale - Bailey's Crossroads region. The approximate boundaries of ACCA's service region are shown below.

Service Programs:

ACCA operates assistance programs and helps to support allied programs that serve community needs by meeting the emergency and critical needs of clients. All ACCA services, except the Child Development Center, are provided by volunteers at no cost to those who need them. For more information about ACCA's service programs, click here.

Volunteering:

ACCA needs volunteers! Over 700 volunteers provide the caring labor, expertise, and administrative support for ACCA programs. Volunteers describe their ACCA work as grace-filled and a most rewarding experience. Some of our current openings include Communications Chair Person, and Assistant Chair of the Family Emergency Committee. For more information about volunteering to help ACCA, click here.

Partners:

ACCA partners with many others in delivering its services. Our partnerships include other service organizations, schools, and businesses in the area; County and State service staffs; as well as private initiatives who partner with ACCA in identifying and serving those in need.
